Getting your first position as an undergraduate research assistant in a lab can be a daunting task. I remember not knowing where to begin! My intent for this video is to demystify the process, and to help you get a research position that is fulfilling and that will help you along your career path – whether it be in academia, industry, or something else entirely!
As a first-generation college student, I remember having a lot of questions when applying to graduate school. While exciting, it can also be a stressful and overwhelming process. In this video, I share advice on how to navigate it. It is made up of information that worked for me, things that have worked for my colleagues and students, and things that I wish I had known when I was applying. It also includes things I learned when talking with other professors about what they are looking to see in potential graduate students. Best of luck – you’ve got this!
